· As a child, Jim recalls falling asleep as his dad and grandfather droned on about GM, Big Steel, and the New York Central in post WWII Cleveland. Investing is a part of his DNA. · In 1966, he opened his first brokerage account at EF Hutton, the same year he hired on at IBM. · He was introduced to index investing in the 1980’s through IBM’s 401k. · After taking an early retirement from IBM in 1992, he sold retirement plans in the public education market in Silicon Valley until 2001. · Since then, he’s acted as a financial advocate for family and a few friends. · In 2015, he co-led the effort to establish the South Bay Bogleheads chapter.
